Data protection

Ucair and data protection

The security of your personal data is important to us. We therefore make sure that our web activities are in accordance with the data protection and data security laws and regulations. The following is a description of the information we collect and how we handle it.

1        Personal data

The protection of your personal data is of utmost importance to ucair. We therefore do not collect any personal data via our websites without your consent. You alone decide whether or not you wish to disclose these data to us, for example in the context of a registration, contact inquiry, or similar.

You can voluntarily provide your personal data to us when registering or contacting us. In general, we use your personal data to answer your inquiry, process your order, or give you access to special information or offers. When using our offer, other conditions might apply that diverge from this data protection notice. We explicitly point this out to you in additional data protection clauses.

2        General information

When you access our websites or retrieve a file, data about this process is stored in a log file on our web server. These data are not personal data. We therefore cannot trace which user called up which data. The following information can be stored:

  • the domain name of the referrer website
  • the pages you visited on our website
  • the names of the retrieved files – the date and time of retrieval
  • the name of your Internet Service Provider – and, if applicable,
  • the operating system and browser version of your PC. We exclusively use this information to evaluate the attractiveness of our websites and to improve their content

3        IP addresses

To allow you to use our websites anonymously, we deliberately refrain from logging IP addresses. We use a data protection-compliant procedure to pseudonymise your IP address before it is stored in our web server log file. We use the pseudonymised IP addresses, e.g., to detect attacks and take countermeasures or to create web statistics.

4        Cookies

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”) Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and that enable your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other countries that are contracting parties to the Agreement in the European Economic Area. In exceptional cases only, the complete IP address may be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports about website activity, and to provide the website operator with other services related to website activity and internet usage on behalf of the operator of this website. The IP address that your browser transmits within the scope of Google Analytics will not be associated with any other data held by Google. You may disable the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from Google’s processing of this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link:]. In view of the discussion about the use of analysis tools with complete IP addresses, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the “_anonymizeIp()” extension. As a result, IP addresses are only processed further in truncated form to make sure they cannot be linked directly to a particular individual. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

The Google Analytics tracking code integrated on this website supports display advertising. As part of Google Analytics for display advertising, the remarketing function is used on this website.

The ads are displayed on web pages by third parties, including Google. Third-party providers (including Paessler and PRTG), as well as Google, use cookies. The combined use of first-party cookies (e.g. Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (e.g. DoubleClick cookies) allows us to target, optimise, and present ads based on your previous visits to this website. You can use the Ads Preferences Manager to disable display advertising through Google Analytics and customise ads on the Google Display Network. The following Google AdWords features are used on this website:

  • Remarketing
  • Interest categories
  • Similar target groups
  • Other types of interest-based advertising

We use these Google Adwords functions to redirect visitors to third-party websites or Internet users with specific interest profiles created based on their Internet usage. We do not collect any personal information through our cookies, remarketing lists, or other anonymous IDs.

4       Children

Children should not transmit personal data to ucair websites without the consent of their parents or guardian. ucair advises all parents and guardians to instruct their children in the safe and responsible handling of personal data on the Internet. ucair will not knowingly collect personal data from children or use it in any way or disclose it to third parties without authorisation.

5       Safety

ucair takes precautions to ensure the safety of your personal data. Your data is conscientiously protected against loss, destruction, falsification, manipulation, and unauthorised access or unauthorised disclosure.

6       Links to other websites

The ucair websites contain links to other websites. ucair is not responsible for the data protection strategies or the content of these other websites.

7       Questions and remarks

If you have any questions or comments about ucair’s data protection policies (e.g., pertaining to viewing and updating your personal data), please contact us using the subject “Data protection”. The continuous developments on the Internet also have an impact on our data protection strategy. Changes will be announced on this page in due time.
